I've been dreaming about this moment my entire life... pregnancy, birth and ultimately becoming a mommy.  In July I gave birth to my son with the help of my husband and doula, J J. Clark.  The birth experience was beautiful, and was more than I could have hoped for. 

 

Having J as doula during labor was reassuring and empowering.  It enabled me to understand the process, and to work collaboratively with hospital staff in making decisions that were in line with my birthing philosophy. 

 

J was nurturing, attentive, and athletic during the 24 hour stretch.  At times I felt like she was my NBA coach.  From the moment the game started my husband and I put our trust in her hands and never turned back.  At one point during our labor, my husband and I had a moment of intimacy (encouraged by J) that moved the labor forward, and reunited us in some symbolic way as husband and wife.  Hours before our son was born, it was as though we were married again. 

 

We feel so fortunate to have had this wonderful birth experience with J as doula.  I would recommend J to you without reservation.  It was truly an amazing birth experience, that would have turned out very differently without the influence of a doula like J.  Thank you ...
